About

Let’s start with the basics: I’m Catarina, though friends call me Cata, and I’m a 28 year old Portuguese creative who has called more than one country “home.” Born in London, raised in Miami, and later shaped by Madrid (my all time favorite city), I’ve grown up surrounded by different cultures, perspectives, and ways of communicating.

After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Communication & Advertising, I worked in graphic design and creative marketing for agencies and brands across travel, events, nutrition, and influencer marketing. Most recently, I completed my Master’s in Creative Direction, Content & Branding at IE Business School, where I honed my skills in storytelling, brand identity, and design strategy. I’ve lived in three countries, speak three languages, and love throwing myself into bold, creative challenges. With a background in graphic design, marketing, content creation, and social media, I’ve built a solid toolkit for bringing ideas to life across platforms. I’m all about clever concepts, clear communication, and working with teams that love to dream big. Organized, adaptable, and endlessly curious, I thrive in international, fast-paced environments.

But enough with the résumé talk, here’s the fun stuff. For as long as I can remember, I’ve needed a creative outlet (painting, drawing, photography, design, you name it). I once wanted to be a painter, until I realized I could channel all that creativity into something bigger: helping brands tell their story visually.

Other things worth knowing about me:

  • I will forever be afraid of the dark.

  • I once made the same birthday wish for 10 years and it came true. (I have a scuba license now, so technically I can breathe underwater.)

  • The ocean is my biggest obsession, and if given the chance, I’d happily live there full-time.

In short: I’m a designer who thrives on creativity, storytelling, and a touch of humor.
